Cuckoo Multifunctional Rice Cooker 6 Cups CR-0675F

My review is about the Cuckoo Rice Cooker 6 Cups CR-0675F, which I found a bit disappointing. The appliance looks very cute on the benchtop and it appears to cook the rice quite well, but I suspect the designers never really tried it out: Firstly, the 'lid-opening' button is on the front and the force necessary to open the lid when the appliance is empty is greater than the weight of the machine so it will move backwards when you push the button. You can overcome this by using two hands, but that is unhelpful when you are working in the kitchen. When the device is full the weight is sufficient to overcome the force on the button and there is no problem. The button should be on the top so that when you press down and you will eliminate any horizontal movement. The second gripe that I have is the illegibility of the marking on the bowl. Many other rice cookers have the number of cups and water levels marked in white on the inside of the bowl but on the Cuckoo the markings are simply indentations , which cannot be read by my eyes. The Cuckoo looks to be well made and, as I said, looks good, but there are many alternatives that address the problems I have mentioned and some are not as expensive.
